You may know – or you may not, I create advertising “shit”. I call it so cause usually is based on the pure air. No research, no user-centered thinking. For more times than not – clients expect to get only the beautiful design. Beautiful picture, logo, social media post, website and so on. But graphic design climbs fast in the evolution ladder. And no more it is about beautiful pictures. So I found an article about Branding Strategy which is a step-by-step guide for a designer how to create more than the cute logo. I always questioned my job ethic of needing to create a visually appealing design based on some kind of research. But never it was provided. No more. Moving forward to becoming Brand Designer. Do you already find Medium? Medium taps into the brains of the world’s most insightful writers, thinkers, and storytellers to bring you the smartest take on topics that matter. So whatever your interest, you can always find fresh thinking and unique perspectives. That’s why I am so deeply in love with this platform. Today I want to share an article I’ve read a few months ago – but it is still n my head and I keep remembering it and read it a few times in a month. Each time I find my head nodding more and more.
I am so tired of those inspirational Instagram accounts full of quotes from amazing people. They are all the same and not really inspiring anymore. So I googled for authentic quotes and I found an awesome project by Jessica Walsh and Timothy Goodman “Quotes on shit”. They simply find the stuff that is thrown away, painted it and figure out smart quotes to write on them. If these quotes aren’t inspiring, at least they are creative. The project itself proclaims the same message I believe to be true that we own too much “shit”. So I like it even more.
The recent quote that we should procrastinate for the rest of our lives reminded me of this epic Ted talk. Inside the mind of master procrastinator.
